PPP over IrDA
I got my Zaurus online w/ PPP over IrDA quite easily. I’m using AT&T Wireless and a Sony Ericsson T68i.
I started from the instruction given on this page but realized that its quite a bit easier on a Zaurus. So, for anyone else who might be interested in doing the same, here’s how I did it:
- In the “Settings” tab, open the “Network & Sync” app.
- In the “Services” tab, press “Add…”
- Select “IrDA - PPP” and press “Add”
- For the phone number enter “*99***1#”
- Press “OK”
(No username, password, or anything else was necessary)
Now to connect:
- On the phone: in the “Connect” menu select “Infrared port”
- On the phone: select “On” or “10 minutes”
- On the Zaurus: select the dial-up applet from the toolbar
- On the Zaurus: select the connection you created above and press “Connect”
…. voila!
