Cuckoo’s Egg

I recently finished reading Cliff Stoll’s book The Cuckoo’s Egg and highly recommend it to anyone who uses a computer. He tells the true story of a hacker that has broken into a computer at Lawrence Berkeley Labs and how he traced him as he broke into academic, commercial and military computers on the nascent internet of the 1980’s. In addition to being a good story, you’ll learn a valuable lesson about computer security. Being very security conscious myself I recognize the lack of attention paid to security by most computer users. Be it laziness or naïveté, this book will inspire everyone to be more conscious about computer security.
